entegrasyon gerekiyorsa devreye girer.
- Başka sistemlerden entegrasyon — CRM, ERP, kurumsal duyuru sistemleri, etkinlik
What is shown on the LCD panel decides which software you need. If the queue number and the
organisation's prepared visuals are enough, the software display built into the queue system is the
right tool; if live data, news feeds or integration with other systems is required, digital signage
is the answer.
The short answer
- Software display — the queue system's own screen: it shows the ticket number, counter
and waiting count, and presents the images and videos the organisation supplies in a tidy layout.
- Digital signage (TroyBlink) — used when live data, a news source or integration with
other systems is required.
Software display: part of the queue system itself
This screen needs no separate publishing infrastructure; it is defined inside the queue software. The
ticket number, counter and waiting count come from the same database, and logo, video and announcement
areas are set in the screen template.
- A single product — installation, updates and maintenance run with the queue system; no
extra content-management layer is added.
- Direct data — there is no intermediate layer between queue data and the screen, so the
risk of delay or mismatch is low.
- Corporate look — the images and videos supplied by the organisation are shown in a
clean layout that fits the screen template.
Its limit is on the content side: this screen does not reach external sources. News feeds, weather,
exchange rates, social media or data from another system do not arrive on their own. Content is limited
to the images and videos the organisation uploads.
When is it enough?
If the screen's job is to announce the queue number and inform the waiting area, the software display
is sufficient:
- when the focus of the hall is the ticket number, counter and waiting time,
- when content changes rarely and is managed with the organisation's prepared visuals,
- when nothing beyond a corporate video, logo and announcement needs to be published,
- when no separate signage infrastructure or content team is to be set up.
Digital signage: when live data and integration are needed
TroyBlink turns the screen into a broadcast channel; the queue number can be just one part of it.
Signage is the right choice when any of the following is required:
- Live data sources — news feeds (RSS), weather, exchange rates and financial data,
social media posts.
- Integration with other systems — CRM, ERP, corporate announcement systems, event
calendars or content from your own API.
- Content planning — playlists, day- and time-based scheduling, campaign periods.
- Multiple screens and zones — splitting the screen into zones and publishing different
content in each.
- Central management — distributing content to many branches from one point and
monitoring screens remotely.
The queue number is carried into signage through the TroyBlink integration, so the two approaches do not
have to be alternatives to each other.
Four questions before deciding
- Will an external data source (news, weather, finance, social media) be shown?
- Will data flow to the screen from another system (CRM/ERP, announcements, calendar)?
- Will content be scheduled by day and hour, and screen zones managed separately?
- Is content distribution from the centre to many branches required?
If even one of these answers is "yes", choose digital signage; if all are "no", the software display is
sufficient.
Both on the same screen
The most common installation uses both together: the main screen in the waiting area publishes signage
content (corporate video, announcements, live data) while the queue number appears in one zone of the
same screen through the TroyBlink integration. A small LED indicator dedicated to the queue number can
always remain as a fallback.
One provider for the complete solution
As ODK Computer Technologies we offer both approaches with our own products: NGQ on the
queue-management side and TroyBlink on the digital-screen side are parts of the same
ecosystem. If you only need the queue number, the software display is enough; if you want to turn the
screen into a communication channel, choose signage; if both are needed, the hybrid installation is
planned, deployed and managed from a single source, with no integration gap between separate vendors.
The right question is not "which screen is better" but "what will this screen show". If the answer is
only the queue number and the organisation's prepared visuals, the software display is enough; if it is
a channel fed by the outside world, signage is.
