Built on .NET 10: Security and Long-Term Support
Queue management software runs all day long. The support lifespan of the platform underneath it turns directly into operational risk: an unsupported platform receives no security patches.
Why platform choice is a risk topic
At the branch, counter terminals, kiosks and indicators share the same software foundation. When that layer is unsupported, known vulnerabilities remain open in the corporate network, and compatibility with new operating system releases is not tested.
What .NET 10 brings
- Long-term support (LTS) with regular security updates
- Compatibility with Windows 10 / 11 and Windows Server 2019 / 2022 / 2025
- More efficient memory usage and faster startup
- Long-term maintenance and current development tooling
What it means in the field
Thanks to the efficient runtime, the default 10-client configuration can run on a branch server with at least 4 GB memory (16 GB recommended). At the centre, NGQ Manager runs on .NET 10 together with Windows Server, IIS 6+ and Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Standard or higher.
No extra load on the client side
Indicators and call screens are web-based, so no separate installation is required on client machines. In multi-branch structures this simplifies update management considerably. Detailed version requirements are in the technical specifications table.
The infrastructure choice shows itself not on the purchase day but at the end of year three: a supported platform produces no unexpected downtime or compliance cost.
