Single License or Enterprise: How to Choose the Right Edition?

The same kiosk, the same call screen, the same counter terminal… The branch side of both editions is identical. The difference is where queue data is held and who manages the system.

Nothing changes at the branch

In the Single License and Enterprise editions, the software installed at the branch uses the same requirements: Windows 10 or later, a .NET 10 foundation and the same kiosk, terminal and indicator hardware. Since the deployed device set does not change, the edition decision does not affect day-to-day branch operations.

Three questions that decide

  • How many branches are there? A single branch can run standalone; a multi-branch structure creates the need for shared definitions and shared reporting.
  • Where will data be held? Will each branch work with its own data, or will all branches be collected in one central database?
  • Who will manage it? Will branch staff maintain the definitions, or does central IT want to manage everything from one point?

What the Enterprise edition adds

In the Enterprise edition, branches are defined centrally: categories, priorities, ticket schemes, device sets and indicator definitions are managed from a single point. Definition changes are applied to branches every 5 seconds by default, branches are monitored on a live status screen, and reports cover all branches.

In this scenario NGQ Manager is installed at the centre, and its requirements differ from the branch: Windows Server 2019 / 2022 / 2025, Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Standard or higher, and IIS 6 or higher. The full list is in the technical specifications section.

A practical rule

If a single branch with local management is enough, choose Single License. If you need to manage several branches from one centre and get unified reports, choose Enterprise.

The most common mistake in organisations with growth plans is looking only at today's branch count and postponing central management. A central structure built before the branch count grows costs nothing extra.
